| Databax data protection : simple, secure, confidential
Databax software is easy to install and can be up and working in a matter of minutes.
You simply download it from our website, and follow the on-screen instructions. During the installation process, you are asked to enter:
a) the 4 digit ID number supplied via email, |
b) a password of your choice, which encrypts the data. |
You then select the files they wish to back up, using a tick-box menu.
This process usually takes less than five minutes to complete.
Once installed, the software periodically checks the files that you have selected for backup. It detects any changes, additions, or deletions that have taken place since the last backup. These changes are collated, compressed for transmission, and your encryption code is then applied.
This packet of data is then sent across the internet, in encrypted form, to our secure site, where the changes are applied to the last backup, to update it.
You can specify, via Databax Technical Support, the time and frequency of backup, and also the number of copies kept by the system, eg a daily copy of a spreadsheet for 30 days.
Databax personnel can NEVER access your data – the encryption code ensures it is kept in an electronic ‘safe’, which we do not have the code to unlock. We do not have access to the client password at any point.
