Centre 1:
Housed within the Manchester Techno Park (part of National Computing Centre) the facilities temperature is controlled to 22°C and relative humidity maintained at 45%. The centre is manned 24/7/365 to ensure a reliable service is provided.
Power to racks the racks are individually wired and breakered through 16 Amp supplies. This means that the power supply one cabinet is not at risk from other cabinet overloading a shared breaker. The UPS and diesel generator system ensure continuous power supply to the Data Centre with the capability of sustaining power for seven days. Mains provision from the National Grid is via a dual ring supply.
A full VESDA system that provides early detection of smoke is in place so that any potential fire is detected before it can develop. In the extremely unlikely event that a fire does develop an EXARO fire suppression system is in place.
The facility has 24 hours
a day CCTV monitoring with
motion sensor activated alarms
systems (including ceiling
and under floor areas).

Databax Data
Centre 2:
Databax Data Centre 2 is located within a secure facility opened in January 2005.
The facility is powered from a main electricity board substation, this is supported by a 2MW Generator with at least 7 days supply of fuel provides us with full capability to sustain long power outages and UPS provides us with power to sustain load until the generator starts up as well as ensuring a clean electrical supply.
Air conditioning is provided by under floor cooling, the air flow directed appropriately by grilles in the floor. The capacity of the equipment is such that a failure of one unit can be handled by the other units

The facility is secured with guards on site 24/7 with offsite backup to our primary Data Centre to deal with any major event. CCTV cameras, motion detection and a key fob access system will ensure a high level of security with multiple layers of defence.
